Fields of application
Historically the first application area of CFD, also called numeric wind tunnel, aerodynamics modeling allows us to precisely study the air flow around a body, whatever its regime and speed:
- Land or aircraft vehicles,
- Civil engineering,
- Wind farms or flexible structures subjected to wind…
Simulation data
Based on the external geometry of a body, the aerodynamics simulations give us some information which help optimize the design:
- Study of the velocity profile and the pressure coefficient around and on the body,
- Visualization of streamlines, boundary layer take-off and recirculation zone,
- Evaluation of applied forces, stresses, vibration frequencies, wind turbine yields …
